ARC Torch of Hope - I'm a torch bearer!
My friends in ARC Cancer Support hold an annual Torch of Hope walk in Dublin City for people, their families and friends who have experienced cancer. It's an opportunity to remember those to have been lost to the disease and support those still standing up to it! This year, I was honoured to be asked to take part as a Torch bearer and lead those walking from the south side of the city. To spread the word and bring in the numbers, I wrote this article in the Irish Independent (published 25th Sept), telling my story of what it's like to be diagnosed with a rare and unusual cancer, go through treatment as a Mum and hand out a few high fives to the doctors, nurses, family and friends who have kept me going along the way.
The walk is on the 21st Oct, information and registration here it's more about participation than perspiration, so it's open to everyone from the young to the old.
Hopefully see you there!
